We are suppose to attend a Trick or Treat event but to some unforeseen event, we are not pushing through. The mother that I am got excited because it's suppose to be the very first Trick or Treat event that my kids will be attending. Sigh! I am very certain that they will have loads of fun sana. For a short span of notice I was able to find clothes for them to wear. I'm that excited. You know! And tadah! Thinking of what might be a good Halloween costume for the kiddos, with my finds I know they will be...

Earn $300

I've got invited by my blogger friend on the link below:

http://www.Inviteincome.com/index.php?refcode=2915

After registering, I earned about $25. Right now as I checked on my account, I got $35. It amazed me because I never did anything for that span of time from the time I registered. I found out about my blogger friend in which she blogged about it here, that she earned big bucks already. Very convincing right? Unlike me, I tried to click on the survey and it lead me to a link of mobile application on games and others. It was where it lead me when I clicked on what area specifically I wanna take the survey. I tried to key in my phone number as what it asked (I never mind keying in my phone number because it's just a prepaid line. Does that make any sense? Or I should be careful too?). For a matter of seconds I got a message from my mobile phone containing a code to verify in which I key in back in their webpage. And then it says that I have successfully completed the process. After which, I tried to visit again the site and it earned me $10 more. Fascinating huh!

Like what my blogger friend said, well let's see what will happen. If you are curious about what I'm saying which led me also to visit the site, click on the link above underlined in green font. Let me hear your experience too or your views about it. #easymoney #blogging

Prizes Revealed Part 2: Olay and Celeteque

Well as promised, one-by-one I am unraveling the prizes I won from Ms. Jackie Go's blog giveaway which you can view it here. This is the second batch of prizes I am showing you (first part post here). See? It's not only one or two items. It's more than 10 actually (hahaha!). That's how big time, generous and blessed Ms. Jackie of GoJackieGo is. And I'm so lucky to have won these items from her.

The photo below are my beauty essential loots I got. I forgot to take photo pala of the trial Cure Gel pack. But it's included in my loots.

 photo IMG_20131025_151607_zpsd58ed5b4.jpg
From Left to right: Olay Regenerist Moisturiser in 75ml bottle, Celeteque Firming
Overnight Cream in 50g bottle, Celeteque Anti-Wrinkle Collagen gel in 40ml bottle.

 photo IMG_20131025_151747_zps0b19aaa0.jpg
Pulling it out in their cartons, these are how their actual packaging looks like.

I'm a fan of Olay Total effects (side by side Pond's Age Miracle Cell ReGen products) especially their facial wash and moisturizer. I swear by it's effects and they suit my skin type. I'm no vain in using beauty products. Sometimes because of my laziness I forget to apply it religiously. But as much as possible I slather some cream in my face because I have parts in my skin that tends to dry and too much oiliness in my T-zone. I'm afraid that when I get older my skin would not be that supple enough and wrinkles takes the stage. They say when you are in your 20's you have to take care of your skin and begin the 3-step beauty regimen of Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize including wearing sunblock. I'm blessed to have an acne-free skin but white and blackheads are visibly all over.

So here are my beauty loots I won. #vanity #beauty

Kitchen Tools for the Holidays

I really wanted to invest in small appliances particularly for our kitchen. I've been meaning to test my "sleeping" culinary skill (I believe somehow each one of us has it) for the longest time now and thinking of buying cooking aids that would surely realize what I wanted to whip up for my family particularly for my sweet tooth. Baking is my ultimate to-do wish. I know it entails a much needed time to be able to focus on making wonders in the kitchen. But I'd like to seriously start and not just wishing. I have to make a move and decide. So as I was scouting for some appliances to add up to my humble kitchen, two things I had in mind: a convection oven and the air fryer of Philips (see here or here or here).

Okay, let me start first with the oven because I had been dreaming about it for a very long time already. Before, it's the electric oven from La Germania I've been yearning to buy. Maybe today it would cost around P8,000-P10,000 pesos depending on the model. But I've been hearing about the name convection oven from a lot of mommy bloggers. It's like a turbo broiler (boiler?) pala. But now, it looks like an oven toaster that can bake and a rotisserie in one. Now I want this! It's not even that bulky and can fit in a small kitchen space like mine. Its size is like an oven toaster or a bit bigger depending on what brand. How is the two differed? You can read it here. As I searched further in the internet, I have short it to 5 designs I have to choose from.

Given I have extra, extra money, I will give Hamilton Beach Countertop oven with convection and rotisserie (31103 model) a shot. It's price is less than $100. In Philippine peso including racks and trays, it will just cost me less than P6,000.00. I tried buying online through Amazon but the shipping, handling and import taxes hurts a lot amounting to a whooping P18,000.00 (super ouch!)! Ridiculous no? The product itself is very cheap compared to the tax and shipping I'll pay. I'll just ask a family member residing outside the Philippines to buy for me and ship it here. A review of the product here.

 photo HBCountertopoven31103_zpsb2f2483b.jpg

Or maybe a Cuisinart CSO-300 Combo Stem/Convection Oven which priced a little bit higher for $300.

 photo Cuisinart_zps16816361.jpg

A Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven 1800W Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ would also suffice my choice for a good convection oven that would cost around $250.

 photo Breville_zpsec5843cf.jpg

But if I have a budgeted money, I'd settle for a Japanese and affordable brand, Imarflex. My rice cooker, oven toaster and blender are all Imarflex brand which I assure of good quality. I saw this from Ms. Aileen Apollo's blog including the photo below when she raved about it here. Maybe for a starter like me, this is good enough because it's already a 3-in-1 technology. What's important is I can bake. That's all that matters to me.

 photo Imarfelx_zpsd048d8bb.jpg

I encountered Mommy Juvs blog in this particular post. There's this one photo which shows an oven from behind one of her son's photo. Funny because it wasn't that of her topic but I just saw at a glance and asked her what particular oven (convection oven to be exact) she is using. I was touched because she emailed me back with the photo of her Kyowa oven she's using. Here's what she says about her Kyowa oven.

 photo IMG_20131025_122947_zpsf6382f8e.jpg

I think the KW-3307 model (photo below) she is using because of the design against the one she emailed to me. It's much clearer from the manufacturer's website as the photos below.

I'm beginning to get excited for my new convection oven. I really wanted to start baking hopefully during the holidays and the start of the new year. I wish I'll pick the best and the one suited for my baking moods.

How about you guys? Would you recommend a good and user friendly convection oven applicable for a newbie like me? Please share.

Prizes Revealed: Manila Baby Bags

In my post here, I joyously bragged about my loots as a giveaway winner from Ms. Jackie Go's blog anniversary. I was too excited to post it hence delaying the post of each items and posting it as a whole instead. But because I swear that each item deserves to be featured on its own, I'll start to introduce not only one but two wonderful and useful items not only for me but for my 2 kids. That's how generous Ms. Jackie is. She gave not only one but two Manila Baby bags! By the way the prizes I got were not only applicable for me but for my little ones as well.

 photo IMG_20131016_063726_zps2a6b6120.jpg
As early as now, I have a bag prepared for my almost 3 year old daughter for school.
I find this truly nice and I can put a name tag on its front outside.

 photo IMG_20131016_063911_zps52b2b9ae.jpg
Look how spacious it is inside. I think this one has still a price on the tag.
Definitely it is not cheap and I'm glad I know it has of good quality.

 photo IMG_20131016_063801_zps0aee7a19.jpg
I love that both sides have this compartment for their bottle of water or juice as baon.

 photo IMG_20131016_063938_zps7f2f096b.jpg
I'm happy that this bag can house a lot. It's expandable and it's roomy.
I really love the color. I can even use this because the design can be good for grown-ups too.

 photo IMG_20131016_063344_zps0935d3bd.jpg
This is another "body" bag I got. This is a backpack and the design is unique for a backpack.

 photo IMG_20131016_063522_zpse8d43a85.jpg
This is also an expandable that can house a lot of things.

 photo IMG_20131016_063409_zps266c52d6.jpg

 photo IMG_20131016_063455_zps3252251e.jpg
I forgot to take a photo of the pouch that is included also in this "body" bag.

 photo IMG_20131016_063437_zpse48b3f23.jpg
I love this design and its quality. It's a sturdy one and the fabric is thick.

This two alone makes me giddy and happy already. More to come because I still have a lot to feature. Feeling #blessed #lucky #winner.

Photos in Motion

Tinkering my mobile phone during weekend is something I enjoy doing while playing with my kids. They love also to be captured using my mobile phone camera, taking videos of them and doing these makes us chaotic and crazy happy. With this I got to save precious moments with them through the photos I got to take. I recently discovered that google have this photos in motion. I was amazed because it automatically sets to this like the photos in motion below. This time my subject is this adorable modulated-voice kid. Little as she is but she makes the loudest sound. Like a bajo.

Amazing no?! I find it so cute because it's like a cartoon character come alive. How about you guys? What are the things you enjoy doing with your kids?

Monster Momma

I believe a parent or a mother wants the best for their kids. As much as possible we want them to enjoy and give them what makes them happy. Being a mother is one great task more than your career in a corporate world. Even if you hold the highest rank in a big company, being a mom is undeniably the most challenging, fulfilling and rewarding job anyone can hold. One of the toughest job about being a parent or a mother in my case, is that you have to mold a respectful and obedient citizen of this world. It is not as easy as A-B-C or 1-2-3. When you become a parent, you will instantly know how it feels to become one. Just recently, I seem to have short-lived patience and easily lose my temper with my almost 3 year old daughter. Am I getting old to have this kind of losing self-control? It's been a stressing scenario everytime we exchange conversation which requires me to raise my voice and the little girl in return. This is due to dealing with a disobedient child. She seem to always do the other way in spite of being told how many times not to. Most of the parenting tips that I read online is to talk to the child calmly and privately and have an eye to eye level when doing so. Even if as young as 2 or 3 years old, they may not fully comprehend yet what you are saying, but talking to them in a calm and lowered voice and away from the public's eyes may let them feel that they are dealt with properly. So far I've practiced it with my child but most of the times, it fails me. It ends up to spanking, pointing fingers and scary face just to let her know she's doing the wrong way. Of course, the physical thing is not brutally done but is enough to feel a little pain. I feel a failure as a mom and a guilty and frustrated person which I don't like at all. Most of the times I feel that I've becoming like a monstrous and terrifying person to them. It hurts me everytime the little girl cries because of reprimanding her for doing the bad things. Disciplining a child is not as easy as doing the most grueling tasks at work. At least work responsibilities would only take a couple of days or weeks and you're free. Teaching your child demands more time, patience and attention until they are ready to face the world of their own. So it takes about years of roller coaster rides. I'm a bit worried that this attitude she's showing might be a reflection of how we treat her. We give her her wants and needs but not to the extent of spoiling her which we don't want to do. Her insisting attitude prompts us to be a little too uptight on her. Of course we don't want to tolerate such deeds.

Once and just recently, a long time officer in the company I'm working with who also just resigned, visited our office and asked me how am I being a new mom of 2. I shrugged and grinned saying "nagkagidlay" (It's a Filipino-Visayan term meaning worn-out or torn). He laughed out too and agreed with me. So I realized all parents understood and agree to each others sentiments about raising children. Being worn-out and stressed is basically normal for parents with toddlers. So it's up to you how you would cope and handle when caught in this kind of situation.

I don't want to look cringe-y for them. I want them to know this is for their own good and ours too. I know in time, as she will grow a little bit more, she'll understand us and I won't wear anymore a monster face. I know in time, I won't have a hard time dealing with them for they would understand what we are trying to imply. I know the time will come there would be no shouting and crying heads echoing in our house. I know in time, the monster in me will come to vanish. And God knows how I wish that that monster will come to end soon.

Prizes Revealed

This is my very much awaited loot that I won through Ms. Jackie Go of GoJackieGo blog. She had this anniversary giveaway and I'm one of the lucky five winners/ bloggers. Honestly, I didn't know which giveaway I won from the many prizes she gave away. But the mere fact that I won, I'm excited about it more so that it's a surprise prize (clueless of what is in store for me). Hence, I emailed Ms. Jackie and thankful for choosing me. She humbly and welcome my request asking her for a personalized note. And to my amazement, she personally volunteered to ship it to me instead of the sponsor for she'll be adding some stuffs to my prize. Naluluha talaga ako sa tuwa.  So after almost 3 weeks (I didn't mind that it took so long for I know I will receive it in God's perfect time and I have it for free!), this surprise me and didn't expect to have this much. The products/ stuff in here deserves to have a one-on-one introduction. So I'll be blogging it soon.

The Little Sales Lady

Me and my hubby always look forward to having free weekend to be able to let the kids stroll. My hubby is the one super busy with his weekend because he is a farmer during those days. But this weekend, Sunday, we took the time off. Where else could be the easiest go to destination but the mall. And this little darling has only one request: that is to bring her to Jollibee. It's super affordable and no parent could ever resist to her only wish. Her current favorite is chicken with rice coupled with french fries and a sweet treat like their sundae (which she termed as 'ice cream').

But before proceeding to the 'real treat', the hubby dropped by in one of the mall's shoe store. The little kiddo can't help but grabbing every pair and showing it to his 'papa'. And like a saleslady, she one by one grab every design and enjoyed every pair she holds.

If You Will It, You Win It!

Parang minute to win it lang ano? Lakas din maka positive vibes. That should be the right spirit and attitude to have a happy outlook in life. We should always arm ourselves everyday and everytime a lot of positivity given how desperate our world seems to be nowadays. Even if all else fail, we should not stop believing and dreaming of beautiful things. I think it's the only way to get rid of stress and worries. It's about having the right disposition in seeing things in all perspective in this imperfect world. The key is to start within us and everything else will follow. Whatever mindset we have, it will show. So better, stay positive whatever the course of circumstances we are in right now. I better say it again and again to my self also. Admit it, it's hard to pretend and be happy when we are having trials in life. But then again, we should always bear in mind that no trials that can't be resolved. God knows our limitations and our capabilities. There are times that we have to pause and take a break and reflect. So this is the purpose of having challenges in our lives.

Leaving you guys with a thought for this beautiful Sunday and always...

Happy Feet

 photo IMG_20131011_113039_zps9e86df14.jpg

Feel like sharing it. I love my butterfly gold flat shoes. Got this one on sale for P525.00 only (original price is at P1,000.++) at Gap boutique shop, Ayala Abreeza Mall. Would you believe this is from the kids section and I have 6 1/2 shoe size? Lucky of me to chance upon it. We didn't know they were having sale at that time. We just went inside to look for some cute shoes and clothes. My sole purpose was to buy only shoes for my darling M, but lo and behold, this sparkling thing got my attention. Double lucky because my mom shouldered to buy the shoes of my kid so I got to grab a pair of this for me. What a triple treat huh? This was the only big pair size among all the shoe on sale.

Love it?

I Saw The Sign

Just like a song huh? Shucks! I have it. Just this morning as I was blow-drying my hair, I came to see a white strand of hair peeped in my crowing glory. And it dawned in me that I'm not getting any younger.

 photo IMG_20131010_085440_zps5587c665.jpg

 photo IMG_20131010_085644_zpsa052b258.jpg

 photo IMG_20131010_090359_zpseb666981.jpg

Why do people associate of having gray/white hair to old age? According to my research, a certain color-producing pigment that our body produces which is melanin, is responsible for the color changes in our hair. And as we age, it produces less or stops. For a typical Filipino, our natural hair color is black. So as we grow older, the melanin (which is color black for our hair) is producing less causing our hair to turn gray/white in color.

Normally, white people starts having gray/white hair in their mid-30s. For Asians, like Filipinos, we start having it in our late 30's and African-Americans in their mid-40s. There are also instances that even as young as in their 20's, they already have silver strands visible in their hair. Experts say, having premature gray hair is also hereditary. If your parents or their lineage starts having gray hair at a very young age, chances are you will be acquiring at an early age too. Early signs of having gray hair may also be due to vitamin B deficiency, thyroid disorder, smoking and chemical exposure.

Is having a white hair itchy in the scalp? Why do others say like that? I wonder why because in my case I didn't feel it. Just a thought.

How Do You Handle Discouragement?

Negative as it seem but it sure is a lot of courage to get over it. Saying a word of discouragement can be depressing. For some, it makes you helpless and less driven in life. Others may take it as a challenge and prove to others that despite everyone pinning their dreams or decisions down, there's no way you can hinder the feeling of wanting to achieve something in life. But to some they easily lose hope, less motivated and the will power to do their own way. I'm a person half disheartened and half challenged. Every time someone prevents me from doing what I want, I have a tendency to repel all discouragements down. But of course, I know my game. I want to prove not only to others but more so to myself. And luckily, there are major decisions in my life that made all those negative remarks fail and that I conquered.

1) To be a successful interior designer. During those times, interior designing is not a 'hot' profession. Living in a less urbanized city, there's no way I can earn a decent income with it. It was a passion that I learn to love. I became very interested with designs and I told myself I want to take interior design in college. I was discouraged by some family members. Half of it I regretted why I didn't take my word but the other half of me was still okay. Because even if I didn't take the course, my passion is still there. I am successful with my chosen field right now so no regrets. But given the chance to take a short course of it, given all resources, I will still push through with my luck on it.

2) Work overseas. I am a typical shy, introvert and dependent person. I am aloof, unmotivated and silent. I am not fond of discussions, going forefront and choose to work behind the scenes. I'm quite fulfilled and accomplished doing the paper works rather than leading a big group. I fear standing and talking in front of big groups and it always weakens me. In short, I am not a risk taker. I always choose the safest ground. I don't want to get hurt or fail. I don't want to be judged and be a laughing stock as what I've experienced and witnessed. I've known myself with those ever since my childhood. After a couple of years working, I come to gather enough strength and courage to face the real world and real people. I manage to learn from individuals different from me and same with me. It is quite a surprise that I've decided to leave the shadow of my family temporarily to prove to myself that I can do more than my limitations. It is not about for others but more on to myself. My family discouraged me but they never demand. They respected my decision and I felt that they supported me in that way even if they half-heartedly allow me. Working in a foreign land is different because of language barrier, culture, beliefs, discrimation and way of working ethics. These alone can be discouraging enough for you to almost give up. It means a lot of self-adjustments. You don't expect them to make adjustments for you. But you have to work hard to be able to prove your worth. But I push myself hard enough and prove myself of my worth. I succeeded in that journey of mine.

3) Blogging. I am happy that I've come to know blogging. It is one of the happiest corner of my life right now. It is about me and everything I love. It is the expression of my life and what I am passionate of. At first, it was all about money and the earnings that I will be getting. It was kinda frustrating because it was so slow and I am not getting any as what I though it is. It was a discouraging feat. It was a personal discouragement. I am about to give up. But because of some support from fellow bloggers, I can't be thankful enough. As time goes by, I came to know myself more and the endless possibilities I can offer. It is a self discovery and it is a joyful adventure with me, knowing myself and exploring new things about me. It was like a meet and greet of myself. Funny! But I am amazed with all the support I get. I felt confidence and an inner boost. Through this, I can express what I want to say and I found relief. Blogging is my 'me-time'.

I hope you find discouragement not a means to give up. It is important to have an open mind and be challenged. It is a time to weight things accordingly and not to be impulsive. It is one way of reverse psychology. Speak your hearts out and the rest will follow. Think of good things and always be positive even if sometimes it is hard. Have faith and let God do some miracles in His own time. To God be the glory!

Jollibee Birthday Party: Hello Kitty and Jollitown in One Event

I'm not yet done folks! I am still having a sting from the Jollibee/Jollitown/Hello Kitty birthday celebration of my girl. I'm still at daze and maybe because I was very fulfilled and satisfied with how everything turns out. The venue #magallanessresidences is a plus factor because some of our guests were new to the place #firsttimers and they love it! Even me and my husband until now can't get over with how beautiful everything from the place, the food, the party itself. So bare with my kayabangan ( or how shall I call it?). It's a mommy thing you know #proudmama. We just can't help but be thankful for the wonderful weather, loved ones, family and friends who joined us in out thanksgiving. My birthday girl is not feeling well on her BIG day. She has coughs and colds. She was irritable on that moment because she didn't sleep during the day which is unusual for her #feelingexcited. But then again, she was up until the celebration ended and I'm glad she saw the fun-filled activities set for her. We haven't seen her smiling and laughing as the party progresses. Poor baby Nique! If she had known what the fuzz is all about, I'm sure she'll be happy.

Nothing beats Jollibee. I love their Hello Kitty theme. I love their loots too (I'll make a separate post of it). Since there are little boys, we gave them batman giveaways courtesy too of Jollibee.

The cake is from Cecil's bakeshop. This is my go to shop. The princess topper is a recycled one.
Meaning, this I used from my first daughter's first birthday. I kept it for souvenir. It's practical too.

Notice the packs on the left part. Those are our prizes. I custom made the paper bag ( I'll have a separate post on that too at my other blog, Craftifacts).

The kids have fun on the games. We prepared a lot of prizes for them and they enjoyed as soon as the Jollitown friends came and drop by to render entertainment for the kids and the kids at heart. I'll have a separate post on that too. It was a fun-filled night even my aunties and uncles had fun with the Jollitown mascots. Nagmukhang bata ang mga lola and lolo-bels!  I just remembered that Jollibee turned 35 years and it was so timely that we have them in our celebration because we love Jollibee! #jollibeeforever #bidaangsaya

We love you our baby Nique! We pray that God will continue to bless and protect you. May the good Lord bless you good health, loving family and a spirit and heart that remains to be a God-fearing, loving and obedient person.
